Although wireless networking is not yet fully supported in Haiku, it is on track to be, and is already functional in some configurations. The current network preflet is not sufficient to handle wireless networking configurations, nor is it ready for other (non-wired) networking options. A good interface will provide quick access to the current settings, but also make it easy to modify settings, eg. choose a wireless network, setup a static IP, etc.
