A concept to present KDE at schools to students

completed by: Giannis Konstantinidis

KDE (software and community) offers a couple of fantastic opportunities for students to improve their work and life with computers. Unfortunately this is not known by everyone. We have the best chances to spread our awesomeness thru decentralized, peer-to-peer communication. The idea is to create a concept how an interested KDE user (or just anybody else) can spread the word at his/her school or in her/his personal environment.

1. Analyze: What is interesting for students? What are the needs? (E.g. see the results of the "Survey of computer use of students" when it is done.) What are the talking points?

2. Collect ideas: How could they be communicated? Is it a good idea to have a little booth for one week during the break to show KDE software to others? How could the booth be decorated and advertised (create some posters). Or is it better offer an install session in the afternoon? Invite someone from the community?  Create a user group with regulary meetings where you do cool stuff? What stuff? What other possibilities are there?

3. Make a plan: Structure your ideas from 2 and create a guide for people willing to take this plan into action.

4. Take your plan into action: Rock your school. (This is not part of the task here in google code-in.)

I have no clue, my school time passed years ago. You are the experts here. Perhaps I could help you with my general marketing knowledge and other things. It would be my pleasure to work with you.
