Abstract

MoinMoin 1.9.x is our current stable release and broadly translated. Unfortunately, not all of the translations are maintained well and thus, we have some that are a bit incomplete (and also some that are very incomplete).

Your task is to work on one translation and translate/fix at least 200 strings.

You must specify the language when claiming (we'll reject claims if no language is given).

Details

Translation (or at least submission of results) needs to be done logged-in on the master19 wiki - if you prefer to work offline, leave some hint there that you are working on it, so other people know.

The po files are located on subpages of page MoinI18n (called MoinI18n/xx for language code xx).

You need to fix all fuzzy strings and also translate untranslated stuff (one exception is if the original string is a system or help page name and there is no translated system or help page).

Notes:

  • languages (not listed in "Abstract" section) that only have very few missing strings or only miss translated system/help page names) do not qualify.
  • qualifying languages that are not listed in the "Abstract" section miss very many strings / need lots of udpates, so it will be a lot of work. Decide yourself if you want to invest that much work (please note that moin 1.9.x is the last release series of moin1 and will be superceded by moin2 in about a year or so - and moin2 has rather different strings).

Benefits

Make moin better usable for people speaking your language.

Skill Requirements

You should have good English skills (for understanding the original text) and very good skills of the target language (for updating/creating the translated text). Very good means that you are either a native speaker of the target language or have comparable skills. You also need to be good in orthography and grammar.
