As described in the following Trac ticket, our user experience for saving a post with an empty post password can be improved upon. http://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/15729.

To complete this task you need to create a patch which improves the UX by appropriately warning the user and/or preventing the user from leaking content they wanted to be privately published or properly password protected. A good solution would be to disable the "OK" button until a post password is entered, but more work may be required as identified through testing.

You need to work with a trunk / 3.1-beta install and you should enable WP_DEBUG in your wp-config.php file. The ticket provides additional direction.

When you claim a task, please include a short description of your experience with WordPress and any relevant information that will help us judge the likelihood that you will succeed at this task.
