Update Moon Landing Sites in Marble

completed by: Gábor Péterffy

mentors: Torsten Rahn

Marble can display our Earth as well as the Moon. The Moon map also displays lunar landing sites. Recently there have been a few missions to the moon which ended with an impact of the lunar probe. Marble displays e.g. the impact site of Chandrayaan-1 and SMART-1. However a few more recent ones are missing:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_current_and_future_lunar_missions

This task is about adding these recent impact sites to Marble.

In order to do this you need to fetch the Marble Source code and you need to build it:

http://edu.kde.org/marble/obtain.php

The file that you need to modify is located here:

marble/data/placemarks/moonlandingsites.kml

Please do some research about the recent impact sites and add the information the same way as for the information that is included already. The impact sites should be indicated by usage of an "Unmanned hard landing" icon (white circle).

Additionally please do some quality assurance verification that the existing information about manned and unmanned missions is correct. Update, correct  or extend it if needed.

Expected results: All manned and unmanned landing sites as well as impact sites on the moon are displayed in Marble.
