Amarok: document the new features for the upcoming Amarok 2.7 - statistics synchronization

completed by: José Antonio Rey

mentors: Edward "hades" Toroshchin, Myriam Schweingruber, Matěj Laitl

Amarok 2.7 is scheduled to be released just before Christmas and we have a few new features that are not yet documented in the Manual.

The new feature in question that needs to be documented is the statistics synchronization.

Currently the wiki page is written as if last.fm were a required part of it:

http://userbase.kde.org/Amarok/Manual/Organization/Collection/SynchronizeCollectionLast.FM

In reality, the statistics synchronization framework can synchronize between any number of statistics keeping entities (portable music players, websites, local collections, etc.)

The task is to rewrite the page, so that it is clear, that last.fm is completely optional in the whole statistics synchronization business. The page must also refer to the metadata configuration section in the Amarok manual :

http://userbase.kde.org/Amarok/Manual/ConfiguringAmarok#Metadata

This mailing list post describes the required changes in detail:

Please refer to the other wiki pages for the style and the menu links.

Userbase guidelines for page editing: See the right side menu in the http://userbase.kde.org wiki, only visible to logged in users. In particular please pay attention to the page elements explanation, requirements for screenshots and editing specifics.

Requirements:

some Mediawiki editing, git version of Amarok
