Hangouts: Present a Howto (Jan 11)

completed by: Samuel Kim

mentors: AJ Williams, Arc Riley, David Czech

Present a short howto on our weekly GCI Hangout On Air along with a screencap video demonstration. You will have 2-3 minutes for your presentation followed by 2-3 minutes for discussion and questions.

The topic of your howto is your choice (but should be PySoy-related) and can be as basic or complex as you like; how to use Mercurial, how to setup a build environment, a tour of how the code is laid out, the steps to add a new class, an introduction to OpenGL shaders, or how to use a 3rd party editor with PySoy media.

You'll want to rehearse this at least once before the Hangout and trim it to 2-3 minutes at most, mentors are available to help you rehearse and give feedback.

You may either pre-record your presentation and upload it to the PySoy Youtube Channel or present it live by sharing your PySoy window, in either case you'll need to participate live in the Hangout.

Hangout should go live Jan 11 at 20:00UTC (you should be connected 15 minutes early) and run 20-30 minutes. Test your video, audio, lighting, software, network, etc with a test Hangout an hour or more before the Hangout so you have enough time to fix any issues.

As you cannot claim two tasks at the same time, you cannot complete this task the same week as you do another weekly Hangout On Air task.

While working on this task you should join and remain in #CopyleftGames on Freenode to get help, feedback, and guidance from mentors and other developers. Code updates which may affect your work are also announced here as they happen.

Post a link to the resulting Youtube video of the Hangout On Air to finish this task.
